2007 Arts Educator Award Winners Announced Award Ceremony to Be Held on May 9, 2007 |

Cleveland, Ohio (March 20, 2007)– On May 9, 2007, Young Audiences of Northeast Ohio (YANEO) will present the seventh annual Arts Educator Awards at the English Oak Room in Tower City Center. The event will be held from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Advocate tickets are $25 and patron tickets are $50.
The Arts Educator Awards recognize and celebrate individuals from all disciplines who use the arts to enrich education and enhance learning of the curriculum. Awards are given in three categories: Primary Arts Educator, Secondary Arts Educator, and Arts Education Champion.
The 2007 recipients are:
Jenna Jones, PhD, Fullerton Elementary School, Cleveland Municipal School District -- Primary Arts Educator
Randolph Laycock, PhD, Valley Forge High School, Parma City Schools -- Secondary Arts Educator
Loe Goldwasser, Readers Theater and Dignity Project -- Arts Education Champion
Margaret Lynch, PhD, Cleveland Theater Collective -- Arts Education Champion
“These honorees represent the best arts educators in Northeast Ohio, and their commitment to incorporating the arts into everyday education affects the lives of every student they touch,” said YANEO Executive Director Marsha Dobrzynski.
Nomination forms were distributed in the fall of 2006. A panel of distinguished business, education and community leaders reviewed nominations received by YANEO and granted awards to the above mentioned recipients. Winners receive a $500 stipend and a $300 program voucher for Young Audiences programs. They will also be asked to serve on the selection committee for future Arts Educator Awards.
