Arts-Integrated Lesson Plan Contest
Cash Prizes for Winners!

Do you have a lesson plan that has inspired your students? Have you used art in your classroom to engage your students in a creative way? Then submit your best lesson plan in our contest. The top winners will receive a $100 cash prize!
Eligible lesson plans must be arts-integrated. That means the lesson uses the arts to teach other subjects, such as history, science, language arts, or math.
The lesson plan can incorporate any art form, such as dance, music, theater or visual arts. It can be of any length of class time or any age group. Please include Ohio Fine Arts and classroom discipline state standards that are addressed in the plan.
Lesson plans will be judged by Young Audiences staff and volunteers. We will be looking for lesson plans that are creative, innovative and simple.
Each plan must include:
Your name
Your school or organization’s name
Lesson Title
Grade level
Academic subject area
Art form
Brief description of lesson plan
Resources needed
Academic objectives (include state standards addressed here)
Art objective (include state standards addressed here)
Procedures (detailed description of how to execute this lesson)
Although it is not required, entrants might also consider including a rubric to assess student learning and an explanation of how your lesson plan met state standards. We will publish the best lesson plans and make them available to other educators as a community resource. The top winners will receive a $100 cash prize. Winners will be recognized at Young Audiences’ annual Showcase event on April 10, 2008.

Lesson plans must be postmarked or submitted to our office via email no later than Friday, February 29, 2008, 5:00 p.m.
