A personal note to PTO/PTA Members in Northeast Ohio:
As a mother of two school-age children, I love discovering programs that can offer a creative twist in my kids’ education. With Young Audiences, twist is what it is all about. Did you ever hear of a tuba player playing a garden hose? That’s what the kids at Onaway Elementary School got to witness this past year as part of a Young Audiences presentation by members of the Metropolitan Brass. While learning about how long tubes make low sounds, short tubes make high sounds, and a mute muffles sound, there they were learning math and science! And they got to hear what a brass instrument sounds like, up close and personal.
When math facts, or historical dates, or scientific concepts are combined with artistic presentations, it gives kids another way to process and remember the information. Young Audiences is committed to enhanced learning experiences through the arts and offers a wealth of programs in all the arts disciplines – music, dance, theater and visual arts – ready for delivery, artist and all, right to your school.
